DOMESTIC PRODUCTS & SERVICES
Worm Farm Waste Systems have been installing simple
garbage, sewerage and grey water treatment systems since
1996.
These systems use very little energy and on hilly sites
would use no energy other than a wind driven ventilator.
They provide a clear, aerated, non-smelling liquid
which is absorbed easily back into soil types.
Plants, trees and native vegetation thrive on the balanced
liquid that is obtained from these systems
Disposal of liquid is done through either trenches
or mound systems using exciting new technology.
Let us know if your site is hilly, flat, wet, rocky,
sandy, near creeks or dams or waterways. This information
is helpful when assessing your requirements. The number
of bedrooms, other uses of the property is also helpful.
If you require us to secure your permit to install,
send us 2 site plans, 2 floor plans and a cheque payable
to the Council.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS
The A & A Worm Farm Waste System is located similar
to a septic tank, that is approximately 2 metres minimum
from the house and depending on the slope of the land
may be located further away. A standard 100mm sewer
pipe connection is made from all of the outlets in the
house to the Worm Farm Waste System. These pipes and
fittings should be installed by your local plumber.
All plumbing fittings are standard.
A compost bin is attached over the centre of the chamber,
this is the access to dispose of all organic garbage.
A 150mm vent pipe is installed from the bottom of the
tank to approximately 4 metres vertically out of the
tank. A wind driven ventilator is attached to the top.
This provides the worms with air. This vent pipe may
be attached to the house and must protrude above the
roof line to allow air flow from all directions.
A shallow trench on contour is required to distribute
the liquid safely back into the soil where it may be
taken up by trees, plants and vegetation.
It has been documented that garbage being taken off
site to landfills is reduced by more than 75%.
This system used on a sloping site can take liquids
out by gravity to an approved disposal area.
On a flat site, a small pump is added to move liquid
to the approved disposal area.
Take responsibility for your waste and have your soil,
garden, lawn or bush land benefit.
NO SMELLS
The Worm Farm Waste System does not have a septic smell,
if any smell is evident it could be related to an earthy
smell. The liquid which leaves the process is clear,
odourless, aerated and contains worm castings.
WHAT CAN YOU PLACE INTO THE CHAMBER?
All kitchen waste, newspapers, cardboard, weeds and
all organic material may be placed into the chamber.
