MLC Banksia is the College’s Education Outdoors site for students in Years 5 to 8 and is located on the Banksia Peninsula, Gippsland Lakes, near Paynesville.
Task: Treatment of all wastewater, sewage, organic waste including all food material

Catering for more than 120 students at time the worm farm waste system has stood the test of time. First installed in 2005 the commercial septic system has stood up to considerable loads of wastewater, sewage and tons of organic waste including food scrapes. Recently we had to refresh the septic tank and connect the outflow to mains sewage.
MLC continue to use this organic power house to practically demonstrate to its students how important it is to care for their environment.
